Receiving Your Marriage License
After your ceremony concludes I will send off your Marriage License. It usually takes two to three weeks before your marriage is registered with the Commonwealth of Virginia. You can obtain a certified copy of your marriage certificate for a small fee by going to the Clerk’s Office in the County where you obtained the marriage license and showing appropriate identification.
Writing Your Own Vows
Some couples choose to write their own wedding vows. There are a number of websites with writing tips. Personally, just giving it some thought and clearly stating your intentions is best. Many people feel unsure that they are doing it correctly, but it will be perfect if you take the time to think about them ahead of time and speak from the heart.
